AMT Designs Unique Robotic Thermoforming & Palletizing System

FANUC Authorized System Integrator, Applied Manufacturing Technologies (AMT) has designed and engineered this custom system, comprised of a series of dual robotic cells installed in their customer’s facility. The first cell in each series manages thermoform product exiting the customer's forming machines. Product is nested for correct stack density, and then transferred to a conveyance system for palletizing in preparation for transport. The system provides a wide range of advantages, including: Improved consistency for handling a challenging product that is easily affected by the environment, material properties and inconsistencies. In particular, this improvement was realized because of the ability to properly build and transport pallets of material. AMT was able to customize each series of production cells to work within small building constraints that includes monument machinery -- this significantly improved function, safety and flexibility. Customized human-machine interface (HMI) allows for more dynamic operator control of the system in order to help manage the impact of upstream and downstream events.
