Miniature circuit breakers, or MCBs, protect sensitive or expensive equipment from damages that can be caused by excessive currents or short circuits. Carlo Gavazzi has a complete line of MCBs to protect your valuable equipment. MCBs trip, or open a circuit, when they detect current levels that exceed the device rating. The curve profile will determine the amount of current and time required to trip the MCB. Carlo Gavazzi offers B curves (ideal for switch mode power supplies), C curves (for general industrial applications), and D curves (which are ideal for high inrush current applications such as motors). Our GMB Series are UL489 approved for branch circuit protection. They come in 1, 2, or 3 pole versions, and are available in 22 overload ranges, from 0.5- 63 amps. Definite purpose, or DP contactors, are an economical solution for switching loads that are larger than typical relays can handle. They are found in a wide variety of markets, most notably HVAC, commercial cleaning machinery and vending machinery, or to switch motors or compressors. Today Carlo Gavazzi has a full line of DP contactors to meet any application requirement. The GDP Series is available in 1 pole with shunt, 2 pole, 3 pole, and 4 pole options. They are capable of switching resistive loads up to 100 amps, and inductive loads up to 90 amps. Horsepower ratings are also available on most models. A choice of screw or box lug power terminals are available on most contactors, with fast-on connections provided on all coil and power terminals. Carlo Gavazzi has a comprehensive range of CURRENT monitoring devices. They can monitor both AC and DC amperage, and alert you if a motor or load is drawing too much current ….or not enough. Our DIA01 and DIB71 offer adjustable set points and time delays. They accept direct input of up to 5 amps, which eliminate the need for external current sensors. Our DIA53 and DIB01 feature integrated sensing ‘through-holes’, which simplify wiring. They can detect up to 100 amps without an external sensing device. The DIA53 is also self-powered, when the current is above the set point, a transistor output is activated. These devices save both time and money! Our E83 and A82 current sensors are very compact. They can measure up to 500 amps and provide a 4 to 20 mA output, which is proportional to the amperage being monitored. Our solid and split core current transformers are ideal sensing devices to monitor hundreds of amps, and provide a proportional output of zero to one or five amps. Our Rogowski coils are useful for sensing amperages up to 4,000 amps.
