Definite purpose, or DP contactors, are an economical solution for switching loads that are larger than typical relays can handle. Today Carlo Gavazzi has a full line of DP contactors to meet any application requirement. The GDP Series is available in 1 pole with shunt, 2 pole, 3 pole, and 4 pole options. They are capable of switching resistive loads up to 100 amps, and inductive loads up to 90 amps. Horsepower ratings are also available on most models. A choice of screw or box lug power terminals are available on most contactors, with fast-on connections provided on all coil and power terminals. Five different coil voltage options are available, covering all of the most common voltages. The coils are enclosed for protection against particle contamination ….which helps prolong the life of the DP contactor. The GDP Series features a mechanical life of up to 1 million cycles, with electrical life up to 250 thousand cycles. An industry-standard mounting plate allows for simple installation.
