Since the publication of language models like GPT-3 and ChatGPT as well as text-to-image models based on them like DALL-E 2, Midjourney or Stable Diffusion, this topic has also arrived in the wider public. The talk explores the potential that the combination of generative evolutionary design and AI models can have for the development of technical components and mechanical engineering. First research results will be shown and challenges will also be discussed based on these results.
