Installation of the first vertical custody transfer metering system

Watch the installation of a vertical custody transfer metering system. The system is used for flow and quality measurement of crude oil being offloaded to shuttle tankers. Vertically installed meter runs with ALTOSONIC 5 ultrasonic flowmeters, system design in full compliance with NORSOK, DNV and MID. Scope of the project (https://youtu.be/Ae6vLPgvLXY): For an international oil company, KROHNE manufactured an unique, vertically constructed, fiscal metering system. The design of the metering system was unique due to vertical installation of the metering lines and due to the fact that the ultrasonic flowmeters had been directly calibrated against a Small Volume Prover. The metering system was equipped with 4 highly accurate ultrasonic ALTOSONIC 5 flowmeters. They were used to perform fiscal measurement of crude oil during batch loading to tankers from an offshore submerged caisson of 48,000 m³ storage capacity.
