Q WEARABLES 03 SOUND BLOUSE

The Linz Center of Mechatronics GmbH (LCM) not only provides high-quality research & development in the field of Mechatronics but also takes part in the education of students. Within the Bachelor Program “Fashion & Technology” of the University of the Arts in Linz, our colleague Florian Hammer gives a lecture on “Wearables”, in which the students get a basic understanding of wearable technology and need to carry out a respective project. The project aim is to add a function to a piece of second hand clothing. In the project “sound blouse”, Sara Kickmayer, Borbala Horvath, Mirela Ionica and Elisabeth Drust added sounds to a blouse. They exchanged the buttons by electronic push-buttons and attached two mini-loudspeakers to the cords. As soon as a certain button is pushed the respective sound is played via an audio-player electronics device. Die Linz Center of Mechatronics GmbH (LCM) bietet nicht nur Forschung und Entwicklung auf hohem Niveau im Bereich der Mechatronik, sondern beteiligt sich u.a. auch an der Ausbildung der Studierenden des Bachelor-Lehrganges “Fashion & Technology” der Kunstuniversität Linz. Unser Mitarbeiter Florian Hammer führt in der Lehrveranstaltung “Wearables” die Studierenden in die Grundlagen der wearable technology ein und betreut deren Gruppenprojekte. Ziel der Gruppenprojekte ist es einem Second-hand Kleidungsstück eine Funktion zu geben. Im Projekt „sound blouse“ haben Sara Kickmayer, Borbala Horvath, Mirela Ionica and Elisabeth Drust einer Bluse die Möglichkeit eingebaut Klänge abzuspielen. Die Knöpfe wurden durch elektronische Taster ersetzt, die mit einer Audio-Abspielplatine verbunden sind. Sobald ein bestimmter Taster gedrückt wird, ist über zwei an den Schnüren befestigten Mini-Lautsprecher der entsprechende Klang zu hören.
