Automated Part Deburring
FANUC Authorized integrator, Reko Automation has designed and built an automated system for part deburring and tool management.
The automated process begins with an AGV loading a pallet containing a part onto a conveyor. an RFID scanner automatically identifies each part prior to a vision system validating and measuring position offsets for pickup. The part position is then verified via touch probe.
A 120 tool capacity carousel with advanced tool management software is utilized to manage tools for cutting and deburring. Tool lengths and diameters are verified using a laser sensor prior to cutting.
The FANUC robot performs automatic tool changes during the deburring process, while maintaining a high degree of accuracy through force feedback control. This also allows the robot to follow complex geometric cutting paths. After the cutting and deburring process is complete, an AGV unloads the finished part.
System Features:
Machine offers high degree of repeatability vs. hand deburr
Smart tool management & AGV integration allows many hours of lights-out machining
Machine tracks tool wear, automatically changing worn tools & alerting operator
Deburring robot uses FS-40iA force sensor to account for tool wear & part variance
